Manila is loud, dense and unapologetically itself, a city where Spanish-era stone churches sit beside glassy malls and jeepneys clog the traffic. Intramuros, the walled old quarter, is best explored on foot or by bike, while Binondo's cramped lanes reward anyone hunting for dumplings and hopia. November sits at the tail of the rainy season, so expect warm, humid days with occasional downpours between the sunshine.
